OVHcloud’s India VPS page lists monthly starting prices from ₹420 to ₹2,240 before GST, but those figures do not tell you the full cost of a continuous YouTube stream. For Mumbai, Singapore and Sydney deployments, OVHcloud lists monthly transfer quotas and a 10 Mbps cap after the quota, so the plan’s traffic terms matter as much as its displayed price.

Use the figures below as a way to compare, not as a quote: the region, current offer and total at checkout need to be verified before you order. A continuous stream at YouTube’s recommended H.264 bitrates can exceed the listed APAC quota even when it is only one channel.

Read the starting prices as a first comparison

OVHcloud’s India VPS page shows VPS-1 through VPS-4 at monthly starting prices of ₹420, ₹810, ₹1,160 and ₹2,240 respectively, before GST, as listed on OVHcloud’s site in September 2026. These are starting prices, not guaranteed checkout totals. The configuration, selected location, optional services and current promotion can affect what you are offered when you configure an order.

The page also presents each plan with a vCore count, memory, NVMe storage and a public bandwidth ceiling. It labels traffic “Unlimited”, and lists a daily backup of the previous 24 hours. That headline needs to be read alongside the provider’s separate terms for Asia-Pacific locations, discussed below. A traffic label alone does not tell you how much data is included at full speed in a particular region.

Plan Starting price per month, before GST Listed configuration Public bandwidth ceiling APAC monthly quota shown on the unmetered VPS page
VPS-1 ₹420 2 vCores, 4 GB RAM, 40 GB NVMe 500 Mbps 1 TB
VPS-2 ₹810 4 vCores, 8 GB RAM, 75 GB NVMe 1 Gbps 1 TB
VPS-3 ₹1,160 6 vCores, 12 GB RAM, 100 GB NVMe 2 Gbps 3 TB
VPS-4 ₹2,240 8 vCores, 24 GB RAM, 200 GB NVMe 3 Gbps 3 TB

The prices and configurations are from OVHcloud’s India VPS page, and the APAC quotas are from its unmetered VPS page, as listed on those pages in September 2026. Check both pages and the purchase flow again when you are ready to order. For a 24/7 channel, the important question is not simply which row has the lowest monthly price. It is whether the selected region’s traffic allowance and post-quota conditions fit the stream you intend to send.

A larger VPS is not automatically a better streaming choice. More memory and vCores may matter if you are encoding media on the VPS or running other software, but the plan table does not establish that a particular machine will encode a given source and resolution reliably. If the media is already encoded, the workload may differ from live encoding; either way, test your own setup rather than infer performance from the number of cores. If you are weighing self-managed hosting against running a local machine, our guide to running a 24/7 YouTube channel from a Windows PC in India covers the practical responsibilities of that route.

Check the selected datacentre before comparing cost

OVHcloud says it has no datacentre in India on its India VPS page and offers nearby locations instead. That makes the selected deployment region a cost and operations detail to check, not an assumption to make from the word “India” on the page. The order flow may show available locations for your account and chosen plan; confirm the actual region before treating a price or quota as applicable.

Region can affect latency between your encoder and YouTube’s ingest endpoint, and it determines which location-specific transfer terms apply. Latency is not the same as monthly data volume, and a nearby country does not by itself guarantee a better stream. Pick the location that is actually orderable, then assess its applicable quota, speed terms and price. Do not assume that a particular India page offer means a server is physically in India.

The distinction matters if you are budgeting from a search result or an old screenshot. A headline price can be visible while a specific location is temporarily unavailable, or an order configuration may have additional selections. The research available for this article does not establish which exact location every buyer will be offered, so the order page is the decisive check.

If you have not run a channel continuously before, decide first whether you need the VPS to encode video, schedule files or simply send a prepared loop. The answer can change which technical configuration you need, but it does not remove the need to check the deployment region’s traffic rules. For an already encoded playlist, the data sent out is still driven largely by the stream bitrate and time online.

Understand APAC transfer quotas and speed caps

OVHcloud’s unmetered VPS page lists a 1 TB monthly transfer quota for VPS-1 and VPS-2 in Mumbai, Singapore and Sydney, and 3 TB for VPS-3 and VPS-4 in those locations. It says bandwidth is capped at 10 Mbps after the applicable quota, as listed on OVHcloud’s site in September 2026. That is the qualification to keep in view when the India plan page says “Unlimited traffic”: the label should not be read as unlimited full-speed transfer in Asia-Pacific.

At the quota, the issue is not necessarily that the VPS stops sending data. Rather, the stated speed cap changes what it can send after the allowance is used. A 10 Mbps cap is below YouTube’s recommended H.264 bitrate for 1080p60, and is close to the recommendation for 720p30 before audio and protocol overhead. Your stream may need a lower bitrate, and you should not assume the cap will sustain the profile you selected. Nor should you assume that a public bandwidth ceiling, such as 500 Mbps or 1 Gbps, is the same thing as a monthly transfer allowance or a promise of uninterrupted encoding.

OVHcloud’s Asia special conditions add another operational point: for the applicable Asia service conditions, the provider says outgoing bandwidth is unlimited but permits restriction to 1 Mbps until the end of the current billing period in cases of excessive use. The special conditions also describe the VPS as customer-administered and make ongoing backups the customer’s responsibility. Read the current OVHcloud Asia VPS special conditions for the policy that applies to the service you order; do not assume one region’s terms apply unchanged elsewhere.

This is why the plan comparison should include both the stated quota and the speed after it, not just the advertised port ceiling. If your channel has to keep broadcasting at a fixed bitrate for the whole month, compare the calculated traffic with the applicable quota before buying. If the quota is likely to be exceeded, investigate the provider’s current terms and alternative operating arrangements rather than budgeting as if the post-quota cap does not exist.

Estimate monthly traffic from bitrate

YouTube’s encoder guidance recommends H.264 bitrates including 8 Mbps for 720p30, 8 Mbps for 720p60, 14 Mbps for 1080p30 and 17 Mbps for 1080p60. These are recommended encoder settings, not OVHcloud performance guarantees. You can use them to estimate traffic by multiplying the bitrate by the seconds in a 30-day month, then converting bits to bytes.

At a constant bitrate, the calculation is: Mbps × 2,592,000 seconds ÷ 8 ÷ 1,000,000,000. That gives approximately 2.592 decimal TB at 8 Mbps, 4.536 TB at 14 Mbps and 5.508 TB at 17 Mbps over 30 days. Those values are arithmetic based on YouTube’s recommendations, not figures published by YouTube or OVHcloud. They are payload estimates before adding audio, protocol overhead, retransmissions or changes in bitrate.

YouTube H.264 example Recommended video bitrate Approximate video transfer over 30 days Compared with listed APAC quotas
720p30 8 Mbps 2.592 TB Above 1 TB; below 3 TB before overhead
720p60 8 Mbps 2.592 TB Above 1 TB; below 3 TB before overhead
1080p30 14 Mbps 4.536 TB Above both 1 TB and 3 TB before overhead
1080p60 17 Mbps 5.508 TB Above both 1 TB and 3 TB before overhead

Even the 8 Mbps examples exceed a 1 TB monthly quota for a single uninterrupted stream. The 14 Mbps and 17 Mbps examples also exceed 3 TB, before overhead. A plan with a 3 TB quota therefore does not make the recommended 1080p examples fit within the listed monthly allowance. Conversely, this arithmetic does not say what exact plan or region will be available, or whether the provider’s terms change before you order.

The estimates assume the video bitrate stays constant for every second of a 30-day period. If a stream uses a different bitrate, resolution, frame rate, codec or schedule, calculate from the actual configured output. Two simultaneous streams at the same rate roughly double the video payload estimate. A stream that is offline for part of the month sends less data, while a higher rate or added services can use more.

Use YouTube’s live encoder settings and bitrate guidance for the profile you intend to publish, then do the transfer calculation for that profile. The guidance also addresses keyframe intervals and supported ingest settings. It is not evidence that a VPS with a given vCore count can encode the profile; test that separately if encoding happens on the VPS.

Account for audio and protocol overhead

The table estimates video payload only. If your devotional channel includes continuous bhajan audio, spoken introductions or ambient sound, audio adds to the outgoing stream. The exact audio bitrate depends on the encoder settings you choose, so do not treat the video-only total as the final monthly transfer figure. The same principle applies to news loops, study channels and other formats: count the full stream, not only the video track.

There is also overhead in sending data across the network, and retransmissions can add transfer beyond the encoded media size. Real-world bitrate can vary with the configured rate control and source. YouTube recommends constant bitrate (CBR) in its encoder guidance, but CBR does not mean that a monthly traffic estimate should ignore audio or the network path. Allow margin rather than planning to consume a quota exactly to its stated limit.

For a practical estimate, write down the video bitrate, audio bitrate, daily hours online and number of concurrent streams. If you expect one continuous stream, use the full month as the conservative operating schedule. If you rotate files or run a scheduled broadcast for fewer hours, use the actual hours instead. Keep the calculation in decimal TB to match the estimates here, and compare it with the quota wording on the current provider page.

This step can change the apparent appeal of a lower-priced VPS. A 1 TB quota is not a comfortable fit for a single continuous stream at 8 Mbps based on the video estimate alone. A 3 TB quota is still below the 30-day video estimate for 1080p30 or 1080p60, before audio and overhead. A lower-bitrate profile may reduce traffic, but make that a deliberate quality and audience decision rather than an assumption made to fit a price label.

If your workflow depends on a local encoder, review its actual output settings and observe how it behaves before leaving it unattended. Our guide to reducing Streamlabs Desktop CPU use during a looping stream is relevant when the computer doing the encoding becomes a constraint. It addresses the encoding side, while the transfer calculation remains a separate issue.

Add GST and renewal considerations

The displayed starting prices are before GST. Treat the price on the India plan page as a base figure, then check how tax is applied to your actual order and what amount will be charged for the chosen billing term. Do not add a guessed tax figure and call it the checkout total: the amount shown at purchase is the one to use for your own budget.

Also check whether the price is promotional, how long it applies and what renewal amount appears. The supplied price figures describe the range displayed on OVHcloud’s India page in September 2026; they are not a promise that the same offer will be available later. Look at the selected plan, location, billing period and any optional backup or service selections together. A daily backup listed with a plan should not be confused with keeping your own independent copy of important source files and configuration.

An always-on channel has costs that are easy to overlook when comparing monthly VPS figures. You may need time to maintain the operating system, configure the encoder, monitor the broadcast, restore a file or investigate a stopped stream. OVHcloud’s Asia special conditions put administration and ongoing backups on the customer. Those responsibilities have practical value even where the server’s invoice is low.

If you prefer not to keep a computer running or administer a VPS and its stream process, StreamNeo removes the specific burden of maintaining that always-on host: you upload the video, provide your YouTube stream key, and it runs the broadcast while your own computer is off. The trade-off is that it is YouTube-only and does not replace your responsibility for choosing lawful source material, checking your channel and deciding what to broadcast. Consider the operating model as well as the monthly charge.

Verify the final checkout configuration

Before ordering, make a short checklist and complete it against the live pages and order flow. Confirm which plan and region are selected, whether the location is actually available to your account, and which quota and post-quota cap apply there. Then compare the monthly traffic estimate for your stream with that allowance, including audio and a margin for overhead.

Next, review the final configuration and total: selected billing period, tax, any optional products, renewal terms and the amount due now. Check whether the order screen describes a starting offer or a recurring price. Save the relevant plan and terms information for your own records, especially if an offer or region choice is time-sensitive. A price from a search result is not a checkout confirmation.

Finally, decide who will maintain the stream. A self-managed VPS gives you control over the software and media pipeline, but you are responsible for administration, backups and verifying that the process recovers as you expect. A plan’s advertised network ceiling does not demonstrate that your encoder will hold a given profile continuously. Run a test with the chosen media, output settings and region before relying on it overnight.

For a loop that restarts automatically, make sure the YouTube live event and encoder behaviour are understood before the first unattended run. Our guide to setting up YouTube Live auto-start for a 24/7 Indian songs stream covers the channel-side planning. For a pre-recorded archive, see also how to stream an Indian interview podcast archive continuously, particularly if you need to decide how source files will be scheduled.

The choice is not simply VPS-1 versus VPS-4. A useful comparison is: can your chosen region be ordered, what monthly quota and cap apply, how much data will your stream send, what is the full recurring charge, and can you operate and maintain the system? If those answers are uncertain, pause before purchasing and verify them directly with OVHcloud.

Before committing, compare the operating options on the pricing page. When the file and channel are ready, start free — 24-hour trial, no card.

FAQ

Does OVHcloud have a datacentre in India?

OVHcloud’s India VPS page says it has no datacentre in India and offers nearby locations. Check the live order flow to see which location is available for the plan you want, then verify the terms for that actual region.

Is traffic unlimited on an APAC VPS?

Do not interpret the “Unlimited traffic” label on the India plan page as unlimited full-speed traffic in Asia-Pacific. OVHcloud’s unmetered VPS page lists 1 TB monthly for VPS-1 and VPS-2 and 3 TB for VPS-3 and VPS-4 in Mumbai, Singapore and Sydney, followed by a 10 Mbps cap. Check the current page and applicable terms before ordering.

Will a 3 TB quota cover one continuous 1080p stream?

Not at the recommended H.264 bitrates used in the estimates here. A 30-day stream at 14 Mbps is about 4.536 TB of video payload, and at 17 Mbps it is about 5.508 TB, before audio and network overhead.

Which VPS plan is enough for a 24/7 YouTube stream?

There is no responsible answer based on vCores alone. Compare the selected region’s transfer allowance with your calculated bitrate-based traffic, and test the actual encoder workload if the VPS will encode the video. Then confirm the current checkout total, tax and renewal terms.
