Open YouTube Studio, select Earn, and look for the Supers tab. YouTube says the tab appears when the channel has access to Super Chat and Super Stickers.
That is the channel-level check. It does not prove that every livestream can accept Super Chat, so you must also check the privacy, audience, age and live-chat settings of the specific stream.
Where to check Super Chat eligibility in YouTube Studio
Sign in to the Google account that owns or manages the YouTube channel. Then open YouTube Studio and use the navigation menu on the left.
Select Earn. Depending on the account and the current Studio layout, YouTube may show monetisation features as tabs or cards within this area. Look for Supers.
You do not need to start a livestream to perform this check. You also do not need to test the feature by asking viewers to send money. The presence or absence of the Supers area in the channel's own Studio account is the most useful first indication.
YouTube's official Super Chat and Super Stickers eligibility page says that the Supers tab or card appears in the Earn section when a creator has access. This is more reliable than a screenshot from another channel because access can depend on the channel, the creator's location and the feature's current rules.
If you manage several channels, check each one separately. Being able to see Supers on one channel does not transfer access to another channel under the same Google account. Make sure the channel name or profile picture in Studio is the one you intend to inspect before drawing a conclusion.
What to record before changing anything
Note whether the Supers tab is present, whether Studio shows a setup prompt, and whether any warning or action is listed. If the tab is missing, take note of the exact areas that are available under Earn rather than assuming the feature is temporarily broken.
You may also want to check the channel's account status and monetisation notices. These do not replace the Supers check, but they can explain why a feature is not currently offered. Avoid relying on an old Studio screenshot, since YouTube changes navigation and eligibility displays over time.
Open the channel's Earn tab
The important path is:
YouTube Studio → Earn → Supers
On a desktop browser, the left-hand menu is normally visible after you enter Studio. On a mobile device, you may need to open the menu first. If you cannot find Earn, check that you are signed in to the channel owner or an authorised manager account, and confirm that you are using YouTube Studio rather than the public YouTube channel page.
Once Earn is open, allow the page to finish loading. A slow connection or an incomplete page load can make it appear as though a card is missing. If the page behaves unexpectedly, refresh it and try the current Studio website in a supported browser. Do not treat a public viewer's account as evidence of what the creator can access in Studio.
YouTube separates general monetisation access from individual Commerce Products. Joining the YouTube Partner Programme is not, by itself, a reason to assume that every monetisation feature is available. YouTube's Commerce Products monetisation policies explain that commerce features have applicable requirements and terms.
The same applies to a channel that has advertisements, memberships or other monetisation tools. Those features may be visible while Supers is absent, or Supers may be available while a particular live stream is still unable to receive it. Treat each display and each stream as a separate check.
For a channel that runs a continuous devotional, ambience or local-information broadcast, this distinction matters. You may have a channel with monetisation access but still need to correct the settings on the current broadcast before viewers can use Super Chat.
What it means if Supers appears
If Supers appears under Earn, YouTube is indicating that the channel has access to the feature at channel level. Open the tab and read the instructions shown for that account. If the page offers Get started, the channel has not necessarily completed the activation steps yet.
Seeing the tab is therefore a useful answer to the question, “Does this channel have Super Chat access?” It is not an answer to the separate question, “Can viewers send a Super Chat on this particular livestream right now?”
The channel must still meet the applicable baseline conditions. YouTube's current guidance for fan-funding features includes participation in the YouTube Partner Programme, being at least 18 years old, living in a location where the specific feature is available, and accepting the relevant terms. Super Chat and Super Stickers also have feature-specific requirements.
These requirements can change, and availability is not identical in every country or region. Check YouTube's current fan-funding eligibility and availability guidance for the location attached to the channel. If the channel is managed through a multi-channel network, the creator and any applicable network may also need to accept and follow the relevant Commerce Product Module or other terms.
Do not interpret the tab as a guarantee that the channel is approved for every possible use. It indicates that YouTube has surfaced the feature for that channel. The live event itself still has to be configured in a way that permits Supers.
This is also why copying another creator's settings can be misleading. Two channels may use the same livestream software and publish similar content, but have different Studio access. Conversely, two channels with the same Supers access may have different results on a specific broadcast because of its audience designation, visibility or chat settings.
What to do if the Supers tab is missing
First, check the basics without changing the channel unnecessarily. Confirm that you are in the correct channel, open the Earn section again, and allow Studio to load fully. If you are an editor or other manager rather than the owner, confirm that your account has enough access to view monetisation information.
Next, review YouTube's current requirements rather than relying on a forum answer. The baseline conditions include YouTube Partner Programme participation, the age requirement for fan-funding features, availability in the creator's location and acceptance of the relevant terms. The feature may also have additional criteria of its own.
The country or region is important. YouTube maintains an official availability list, and it is better to check that live page than to copy a long list of countries into a permanent setup note. A channel operated from India, for example, should be checked against the current India-specific availability information rather than against an old video or a creator's recollection.
If the channel is in the YouTube Partner Programme but Supers is not shown, do not assume that Studio is wrong. YouTube explains in its overview of how creators earn money that different monetisation features have different requirements. Partner Programme membership is relevant, but it does not automatically establish access to every feature.
Review any notices in the Earn area, including requests to accept terms or complete a required step. If a multi-channel network is involved, check whether the network has an applicable agreement or action to complete. Do not accept terms on behalf of another party unless you have authority to do so.
You should also distinguish a missing tab from a stream-level problem. If Supers is visible in Earn but the option is not working on a broadcast, the channel may be eligible while that particular stream is not. In that situation, continue to the stream-level checks below instead of trying to re-qualify the whole channel.
For persistent uncertainty, use YouTube's official Help guidance and the support route available in the channel's own Studio account. Include the channel, the exact Studio section you checked and the wording of any notice. That gives support something more useful to investigate than a general statement that Super Chat is not working.
Enable Supers through Get started
When the Supers tab is present and you want to activate the feature, open it and select Get started. Follow the instructions shown in Studio for that channel. The exact screens can change, so use the current on-screen wording rather than a guide recorded for an earlier Studio version.
YouTube's instructions for turning Super Chat and Super Stickers on or off describe this setup path. Read each step before confirming it, especially where YouTube asks the creator to accept commerce terms or confirms who is responsible for the channel.
If the channel is connected to an applicable multi-channel network, the creator and network may both have obligations under the relevant terms. A manager should not assume that opening the Supers page completes every agreement automatically. Follow any instruction that remains visible after the setup flow finishes.
After completing setup, return to the Supers area and check for a clear enabled or active state. Keep a record of what Studio shows, but do not treat the record as permanent proof that every future livestream will qualify. It is evidence of the channel's current setup, not a replacement for checking the next broadcast.
If you operate a 24/7 prerecorded channel, activation is only one part of the work. Your streaming method still has to keep the live event connected, and the stream must retain the settings that allow live chat. The OBS versus FFmpeg guide for a 24/7 YouTube stream can help you think through the production method separately from the monetisation setting.
A cloud workflow can also remove the need to leave a home computer running, but it cannot create YouTube eligibility or override stream-level restrictions. StreamNeo is useful here when the specific pain is keeping an uploaded video running as a YouTube broadcast without leaving your own computer on, while the channel and stream settings remain your responsibility.
Check whether an individual live stream qualifies
Once channel-level access and setup are confirmed, inspect the particular live stream. A channel can have Supers access while an individual live event cannot accept Super Chat.
Start with visibility. YouTube's guidance identifies private and unlisted content as ineligible for Supers, so check that the event is configured for the audience you intend to reach. A scheduled event and the live broadcast that follows it should also be checked in the relevant Studio screen rather than assumed to share every setting.
Check the audience designation. A stream marked Made for Kids cannot use the same fan-interaction features as a general-audience stream, and YouTube lists Made for Kids videos among content that cannot receive Super Chat or Super Stickers. Set the audience accurately; do not change it simply to pursue a feature.
Check age restriction as well. YouTube lists age-restricted videos as ineligible. If an age restriction has been applied or selected, Super Chat may not be available for that stream even though the channel's Supers tab remains present.
Then check the live-chat setting. Super Chat depends on live chat, so a broadcast with live chat or comments turned off cannot accept it. For an always-on channel, this can happen after a template, scheduled event or moderation change is copied to a new stream. Look at the current event's settings, not only the channel's usual defaults.
YouTube also lists YouTube Giving fundraiser videos as ineligible. If the broadcast is connected with fundraising tools, check the specific rules and status before telling viewers that Super Chat is available. Do not describe the feature as active merely because a payment-related panel appears somewhere in Studio.
A practical pre-broadcast check is:
| Check | What you are confirming | If it fails |
|---|---|---|
| Channel | Supers appears under Earn | Review channel-level eligibility and terms |
| Setup | The Supers flow has been completed | Open Supers and follow Get started |
| Visibility | The event is not private or unlisted | Review the event's visibility |
| Audience | The stream is not marked Made for Kids | Correct the audience designation only if inaccurate |
| Restrictions | The stream is not age-restricted | Review the reason and current status |
| Chat | Live chat is available | Turn chat on where appropriate |
| Fundraising | The event is not a YouTube Giving fundraiser video | Check the event type and YouTube's current rules |
This table is a troubleshooting sequence, not a promise that changing one setting will make the feature appear. Some restrictions reflect the content or account status and should not be bypassed. Use the current official rules when a stream does not fit the normal pattern.
For a devotional channel, for example, you might see Supers in Earn, complete setup, and still have no Super Chat on a private test broadcast. That result is consistent with the distinction between channel access and stream availability. Test with the intended public stream configuration, while keeping in mind that a test should not ask viewers to send money merely to prove a button exists.
If you use OBS, FFmpeg or a hosted streaming workflow, the encoder is not the authority on Super Chat eligibility. It sends the video and audio to YouTube; YouTube decides whether the channel and the individual event can use the feature. The guide to running prerecorded videos on a YouTube livestream from an Indian cloud server covers the delivery side, not the YouTube commerce decision.
Likewise, the guide to setting Super Chat amounts for Indian viewers is relevant only after the channel and stream can use Supers. Amount or currency settings cannot establish eligibility where the Supers tab is absent or the stream is excluded.

FAQ
How do I check if my YouTube channel has Super Chat?
Open YouTube Studio, select Earn, and look for Supers. YouTube says the Supers tab or card appears when the channel has access, but you must still complete any setup shown there and check the individual livestream's settings.
Why is the Supers tab missing in YouTube Studio?
Confirm that you are viewing the correct channel and account, then review YouTube's current fan-funding requirements, location availability and applicable terms. YouTube Partner Programme membership alone does not prove that Super Chat is available, because each monetisation feature can have additional requirements.
Can I use Super Chat on every livestream?
No. Channel-level access and stream-level availability are separate. YouTube lists private, unlisted, age-restricted, Made for Kids and YouTube Giving fundraiser videos as ineligible, and Super Chat is unavailable when live chat or comments are turned off.
Does my streaming software control Super Chat availability?
No. OBS, FFmpeg and hosted streaming tools deliver the broadcast, but YouTube determines whether the channel and the particular event can use Supers. Check YouTube Studio and the current official eligibility guidance when the feature is missing.
