If your Lightsail charges are billed through AWS India, you can pay an outstanding bill with UPI from AWS Billing and Cost Management. The payment is handled through AWS billing, not a separate Lightsail payment flow; AWS displays a QR code that you scan and approve in your UPI app.

First confirm that the account is billed by AWS India and that the bill is an AWS cloud-services bill. AWS says the QR request expires after 10 minutes, so if it times out, start a new payment from the Billing console rather than trying to reuse the old code.

Confirm that the account is billed through AWS India

UPI eligibility depends on the account being billed through AWS India. The fact that you are in India, use an Indian UPI app, or run a Lightsail instance for an Indian audience does not by itself establish that the payment option will be available. Check the seller of record and billing details for the account before following the payment steps.

AWS's India payment guidance covers AWS India bills and lists UPI among the payment methods it supports. If the account's seller or billing entity is unclear, consult the billing documents and account details rather than assuming the UPI option applies. AWS notes that new accounts with India as both their contact and billing address have an agreement with Amazon Web Services India Private Limited, but account-specific details remain the useful check for an existing account.

The payment route described here is for an AWS cloud-services invoice, such as a Lightsail charge billed with your AWS account. Do not confuse that with an AWS Marketplace purchase: Marketplace has its own payment terms, and its India buyer guidance says UPI and net banking are not currently available for purchases from India-based Marketplace sellers. Check the relevant AWS guidance if the charge is a Marketplace item rather than a Lightsail service bill.

If you run a continuous YouTube channel, billing is only one part of the operating decision. An AWS bill being payable with UPI does not demonstrate that a particular Lightsail configuration is suitable, supported, or cost-effective for your stream. For the channel workflow itself, see this guide to running an all-day aarti and bhajan stream; keep that separate from the question of how AWS collects payment.

Open AWS Billing and Cost Management

Sign in to the AWS account that owns the Lightsail bill, then open the Billing and Cost Management console. Choose Payments in the navigation pane. The exact layout can vary as AWS updates its console, but the payment task belongs in the AWS billing area because Lightsail bills are handled through AWS billing.

Use the account with authority to see and pay the bill. If you have several AWS accounts, check the account identifier and billing context before selecting anything; paying a bill from the wrong account will not clear the one you intended. If you use an organisation or delegated billing arrangement, make sure you are in the account or billing view that presents the outstanding bill.

AWS documents the India payment flow in its guide to managing payments in India. Keep that official page available if your console labels differ or you need to verify which methods apply to your billing arrangement. The guide is a source for AWS billing steps, not for configuring a YouTube stream.

It helps to separate the technical and administrative jobs. A stream can be prepared in YouTube Live Control Room and a bill can be settled in AWS Billing; neither screen proves that the other part of the setup is correct. If you are still building the channel, this Control Room walkthrough for an always-on Indian music stream covers the channel-side task without changing the billing instructions here.

Select the outstanding bill

On the Payments page, identify the outstanding bill or bills you intend to settle. Read the amount, due details and account context shown by AWS before proceeding. If more than one bill is outstanding, select the relevant item deliberately; do not assume that choosing one automatically includes every charge in the account.

Choose Complete payment for the selected outstanding bill. This takes you into the available payment-method flow for that bill. If the button or a bill does not appear, check that you are in the right account and that the item is currently payable through this console. Do not infer from an absent button alone that Lightsail has a different payment process.

AWS's payment screen is the source of the currently offered options. Where UPI is missing, return to the eligibility question: is this account billed through AWS India, and is this an AWS cloud-services bill rather than a Marketplace purchase? If those points do not explain the difference, use AWS's current billing help or support route for the account instead of relying on a guide written for a different billing arrangement.

Before confirming a payment, make sure the selected bill is the intended AWS liability. This is especially useful if the account also has other services or charges: the payment page may represent consolidated AWS billing rather than a bill labelled only “Lightsail”. A charge can relate to Lightsail while still being presented and paid within the broader AWS billing account.

Choose UPI Scan and Pay

For an eligible AWS India bill, select Use UPI Scan and Pay, then choose Verify and pay. AWS will present an intermediate payment page with a QR code. Follow the prompts on that page; do not start a second payment in another browser tab just because the first page takes a moment to appear.

This is a one-time payment choice for the bill you selected. It is different from UPI AutoPay, which AWS documents as a way to set up a recurring mandate for future AWS India invoices. If you only want to pay the current outstanding bill manually, use Scan and Pay rather than creating a recurring instruction by mistake.

The key distinction is what you are authorising. Scan and Pay asks you to approve the presented payment in your UPI app for the selected bill. AutoPay is a payment preference that is intended to cover future invoices after you set up and approve the mandate. Review the wording in AWS and in your UPI app before approving either type, and stop if the amount or payee does not match what you expect.

Choice What it is for What to check
UPI Scan and Pay A manual payment for an outstanding bill selected in AWS Payments The selected bill and amount, then the payee and request shown in your UPI app
UPI AutoPay A recurring payment mandate for future AWS India invoices That you intend to authorise a recurring mandate and that AWS shows it as enabled afterward

The table describes the difference in purpose, not a guarantee that either choice will appear in every account. Availability follows the account's billing eligibility and the options AWS presents. AWS's payment-method instructions for AWS India explain its documented methods, including the QR-based route.

Scan and approve the QR payment

Open a UPI app on your phone and use its QR scanning function to scan the code shown on the AWS payment page. Check the payee and amount displayed in the app against the bill you selected, then approve the transaction in the UPI app. Follow any additional confirmation steps presented by your app.

AWS says the QR approval must be completed within 10 minutes or the request expires. Treat the code as a time-limited payment request: keep the AWS page open while you scan and approve, and do not rely on a screenshot or a code left open from an earlier attempt. If you cannot complete the authorisation in time, use the restart steps below.

After approving in the UPI app, return to AWS and check the Payments page for the result or a success message. Avoid approving again merely because you are uncertain whether the first attempt completed. First check the status in AWS and your UPI app, and allow the pages to update. If the status is unclear, use the account's current AWS billing support guidance to resolve it before making another attempt.

A practical way to reduce mistakes is to have the correct AWS account open before beginning and to keep the phone and payment page ready. That avoids spending the short QR window looking up account details or switching between unrelated bills. The payment flow is separate from the live broadcast: approving an AWS bill does not start a YouTube stream or verify its picture, sound, or continuity.

If your main concern is keeping a music broadcast technically stable overnight, payment is not a substitute for checking audio and playback behaviour. A separate guide on fixing audio desynchronisation in a continuous Indian music stream addresses that operational issue. StreamNeo is relevant when the specific burden is keeping a prepared video broadcasting without leaving your own computer running; it does not change how AWS bills a Lightsail account.

Restart an expired QR request

If 10 minutes pass before approval, AWS says the QR request expires and you need to retry the payment from the Billing console. Return to AWS Billing and Cost Management and open Payments again. Check the outstanding bill's status before starting a replacement request.

Select the bill again, choose Complete payment, then choose Use UPI Scan and Pay and Verify and pay to generate a fresh request. Scan the newly displayed QR code and approve it in your UPI app within the displayed period. Do not try to approve an expired code from a screenshot, and do not assume an old request has become valid again when you reopen the page.

If the old attempt appears to have succeeded in your UPI app but the bill still appears outstanding, pause before creating another payment. Recheck the payment status in AWS and the transaction status in the UPI app. When those records do not agree, follow AWS's current guidance or contact AWS support with the account and transaction details; repeating a payment without checking can create avoidable uncertainty.

A missing or expired request is not evidence that the Lightsail service has a separate payment system. The supported recovery is to restart from AWS billing, where the bill and its payment status are managed. For general Lightsail billing context, AWS explains that you can view the bill through the Billing and Cost Management Dashboard or choose Billing in the Lightsail console in its Lightsail billing FAQ.

Find the Lightsail bill

You can locate the relevant charge in AWS Billing and Cost Management. AWS also says you can choose Billing in the Lightsail console to view billing information. This is a convenient route to the AWS billing context; it does not mean Lightsail has a standalone UPI checkout separate from AWS.

If you start in Lightsail, use the billing link to move into the AWS billing view and look for the outstanding bill there. If you start in Billing and Cost Management, identify the bill in Payments and use the documented payment flow. Either way, the account's billing eligibility and the available methods shown by AWS control what you can do.

A Lightsail charge may sit alongside other AWS charges, so use the bill details to understand what you are paying. AWS's guide to understanding a Lightsail bill is useful for interpreting the service bill; the payment instructions remain in AWS Billing. If you are checking the cost of a persistent streaming setup, do not treat a successful payment method as proof that the resource configuration or monthly spend is appropriate for your channel.

There is also a difference between paying manually and preparing future invoices. If you want a recurring arrangement, AWS documents UPI AutoPay in Payment preferences: add the payment method, select UPI AutoPay, provide or select the billing address, then verify through the displayed QR flow. After returning to Payment preferences, check that UPI AutoPay is selected and its status says AutoPay enabled. Use AWS's current India payment documentation for the exact prompts, and set this up only if a recurring mandate is what you intend.

A manual payment is simpler when you want to review each bill before approving it. AutoPay reduces the need to repeat manual approval for future invoices but requires you to authorise a recurring mandate. Neither option changes the scope of AWS's billing rules, and neither is a remedy for an account that is not billed through AWS India.

Before committing, compare the operating options on the pricing page. When the file and channel are ready, start free — 24-hour trial, no card.

FAQ

Can I pay my Lightsail bill with UPI in India?

You can use UPI Scan and Pay when the bill is handled by an eligible AWS India-billed account and AWS offers that method for the bill. The payment takes place through AWS Billing and Cost Management, not a separate Lightsail checkout. Check the seller of record and the options shown in your account.

How do I pay an AWS bill using UPI Scan and Pay?

Open Billing and Cost Management, choose Payments, select the outstanding bill, and choose Complete payment. Select Use UPI Scan and Pay, choose Verify and pay, then scan the QR code with a UPI app and approve the request. Return to AWS to check the payment status.

What should I do if the UPI QR code expires?

AWS says the QR request expires if you do not approve it within 10 minutes. Start again from the Billing console by reopening the bill and creating a new UPI Scan and Pay request; do not reuse the expired code. Check the bill and UPI app status first if you may already have approved the earlier request.

Is UPI available for every AWS account or Marketplace purchase?

No. The instructions apply to eligible AWS India billing, not every AWS account or region. AWS Marketplace purchases have separate rules, so check the relevant current AWS guidance if the charge is from Marketplace rather than an AWS cloud service.
