A YouTube channel labelled as a live cam may not be showing a camera feed at that moment. It may be playing recorded footage continuously, sometimes because a loop is more dependable, safer, and easier to manage than a camera left running overnight.

That is not automatically a problem. The important distinction is whether the channel clearly represents what it is showing, and whether a loop suits the reason you are watching. A real camera is needed for current conditions; a recorded loop is often better for atmosphere, devotional content, scenery, or a business display.

What a true live camera feed requires from end to end

A genuine live camera channel has more moving parts than a viewer sees.
