If you want to stop a cloud subscription used for YouTube streaming, first find which account and provider manage the subscription, then cancel it through that provider. If a UPI AutoPay mandate is also active, revoke it separately as a payment-control step and check that the subscription itself shows as cancelled.

The title alone does not identify the Google Account, billing provider or payment mandate involved. Cancelling the wrong account, uninstalling an app or revoking a mandate without confirming the membership can leave you uncertain about whether the next renewal is stopped.

Identify the account and billing provider

Start with the Google or YouTube account that may own the subscription. If you use more than one Google Account, check each in turn rather than assuming the account currently open on your phone is the one being billed. A work, family or older account may have been used when the subscription began.

On YouTube, open Paid memberships or go to youtube.com/paid_memberships. Review the membership and its billing details. On Android, YouTube also directs users to Profile picture > Purchases and memberships to view the membership’s payment details. Receipts and payment records can help you match the charge to an account at payments.google.com.

Look for clues in the membership page and the receipt: the service named, the account signed in, the next billing date, and the payment method. The route you use to cancel depends on who manages the subscription. YouTube may provide its own cancellation controls, Google Play may manage it as a Play subscription, or another billing provider may be responsible. An iPhone subscription billed by Apple, for example, must be managed through the Apple account rather than by cancelling a Google Play subscription.

If you cannot find the membership in the first account, check other accounts before concluding that it is missing. Google Play specifically advises checking whether you are signed in to the Google Account that owns the subscription. You can also check Google Payments’ Subscriptions & services for a recurring Google charge; if it points to a product without a direct cancellation control, follow the Manage subscription route to that product.

Do not use the UPI transaction alone to decide which cancellation path applies. It tells you that a payment was made, but it may not tell you which account’s service membership is active or which provider controls renewal. The objective is to identify both the service subscription and, separately, any active mandate that can debit your UPI account.

Check YouTube Paid memberships

The Paid memberships page is a useful first stop even when the charge appears on a bank statement as UPI. Sign in to the relevant YouTube account and inspect the listed membership. If YouTube shows the membership and offers Manage membership, use those controls to review its billing information and cancellation route.

For the web flow described by YouTube Help, select Manage membership, then Deactivate, and continue to cancel. You may be asked to select a reason; choose Next, then confirm with Yes, cancel. Menu wording can change, so follow the cancellation prompts shown for your membership rather than relying only on an old screenshot or a remembered sequence.

On Android, open Profile picture > Paid memberships, select the relevant membership and choose Continue to cancel. Select a reason if prompted, continue with Next, then choose Yes, cancel. If the screen indicates Google Play is managing the subscription, use the Play cancellation route described below instead.

If no relevant membership appears, do not cancel a different subscription just because its name looks similar. First verify the signed-in account, then check Google Play and Google Payments for the recurring charge. If you began the membership through YouTube on iOS and Apple bills it, YouTube directs you to cancel through your Apple account. The billing provider matters; the same button or steps do not apply to every provider.

You are dealing with account management rather than a streaming configuration issue. If your channel is otherwise running reliably, there is no need to change its video loop, live settings or stream key just to stop a subscription renewal. For context on channel operation rather than billing, see how to run a YouTube live stream from pre-recorded nature videos.

Cancel through Google Play if applicable

Use Google Play when the membership is listed as a Play subscription. Open the Google Play subscriptions page while signed in to the Google Account that owns the subscription. Select the relevant YouTube subscription, choose Cancel subscription, and follow the prompts through to confirmation.

If YouTube is not listed, switch accounts and check again. A subscription does not necessarily appear under the account you most often use for YouTube, and Google Play’s help instructions emphasise using the account that has the subscription. Removing YouTube from your phone does not cancel a Google Play subscription. Keep the account and subscription records until you can confirm the cancellation in Play and, where relevant, on YouTube.

If you are not sure whether Play is involved, compare the Play subscription entry with the receipt or transaction information rather than cancelling a membership by guesswork. YouTube’s paid-membership page may indicate that the membership is managed through Google Play. Google Play is the cancellation route for a subscription it manages; it is not a universal cancellation page for every YouTube-related service or cloud tool.

For a channel using continuous video, billing and broadcast reliability are separate concerns. A subscription cancellation should not be treated as a way to fix a stream that disconnects, just as changing a stream setup will not end a recurring bill. If you are troubleshooting interruptions, this guide to a meditation live stream that keeps disconnecting on YouTube covers a different problem.

Revoke a UPI AutoPay mandate separately

Once you have identified the service subscription, check whether a live UPI AutoPay mandate is also present in the payment app you used. In Google Pay, the documented route is Profile picture > AutoPay > Live. Select the relevant mandate, choose Cancel autopay, enter your UPI PIN, then check that the mandate status has updated. Google Pay notes that menu labels can vary with app versions; its AutoPay help page explains the mandate controls.

Revoking a mandate prevents debits under that mandate. It is a separate action from cancelling a service membership, so do not treat it by itself as proof that the subscription has ended. First cancel through the provider that manages the membership, and then revoke the matching live mandate if you want to stop future debits authorised under it. Finally, verify both records where they exist.

The title does not establish that every UPI payment for YouTube streaming uses Google Pay, or even that a particular recurring charge is controlled by a Google Pay mandate. If you use another UPI app, find its mandate or AutoPay section and follow the controls shown there. Match the merchant and mandate to the charge you are investigating. If you cannot confidently match them, check the app’s help or contact the relevant provider before revoking a different mandate.

A pending debit or an entry whose status has not updated can make the result unclear. Note the mandate’s current status and check again after the app processes the action. If a debit has already been initiated, revoking the mandate may not reverse that transaction; the payment app or billing provider can explain the status of a specific payment. Keep any confirmation shown in the app for your records.

This extra payment step is relevant when the mandate exists, but it does not replace service cancellation. Conversely, cancelling the membership through its billing provider is the essential subscription step even if you do not find a mandate in the UPI app. The membership controls and payment mandate controls answer different questions: whether service renewal is cancelled, and whether a payment authorisation remains live.

Verify cancellation in both places

After following the applicable cancellation route, return to YouTube Paid memberships and check the membership status. Look for wording that indicates cancellation or an end date for benefits rather than assuming that a completed-looking screen means the change was saved. If Google Play managed the subscription, also revisit its subscription page and check the status there.

If you revoked a UPI AutoPay mandate, return to the app’s mandate list and confirm it no longer shows as live or active. Keep in mind that the mandate status does not establish the status of the YouTube membership. You need to check the service record independently. Likewise, a cancelled membership does not necessarily prove that every payment mandate in your account has been revoked.

Check the account again if the subscription is not visible or the status is unclear. Review the receipt at payments.google.com and compare the merchant, account and payment details. Google Payments also provides a route to recurring subscriptions under Subscriptions & services; use Manage subscription to reach the relevant Google product where a direct cancellation option is not shown.

If you have completed the service cancellation but still see an active mandate, decide whether to revoke that matching mandate as a separate action. If you see a cancelled mandate but an active membership, contact the subscription provider or use its cancellation controls: the mandate change alone does not confirm that renewal of the membership has been cancelled. Save confirmation emails, receipts or on-screen status details until the next billing date has passed and the records are clear.

For a creator, it can help to keep a simple note of which account owns the membership, which provider manages billing and what confirmation each screen showed. That is more useful than making a change to the channel itself. Guides such as OBS settings for a 24/7 YouTube nature stream address how a live channel is operated; cancellation is handled in subscription and payment settings.

What happens to access after cancellation

YouTube says paid benefits continue until the end of the current billing period after cancellation. Its help page states: “When you cancel your membership, you won't be charged again unless you re-subscribe.” That statement applies to the YouTube membership described by YouTube Help; if another provider bills a cloud service, check that provider’s terms and account status rather than assuming the same access period applies.

To see the next billing date, price and payment method for a YouTube membership, Android users can open Profile picture > Purchases and memberships and select the membership details. YouTube also directs users to check receipts under Activity at payments.google.com. The date shown helps you understand how long benefits may continue and whether a payment you already recognise belongs to the current billing period.

Do not confuse continued access with a failed cancellation. If YouTube shows cancellation and an end date, access may remain until that date without another renewal charge. If the status still shows an upcoming renewal or the provider’s page does not confirm cancellation, go back to the billing manager and resolve that before relying on an assumption.

If you are also considering a different arrangement for keeping a channel live, separate that decision from this cancellation. For example, a cloud service that runs an uploaded video as a YouTube live stream is distinct from a YouTube paid membership and may have its own billing controls. StreamNeo removes the need to leave your own computer running for that broadcast, but its account and payment arrangements should be reviewed separately from the membership you are cancelling.

FAQ

Does cancelling a UPI AutoPay mandate cancel the YouTube subscription?

Not by itself. Revoking a mandate stops debits under that mandate, but you should cancel through the provider that manages the subscription and verify the membership status separately. Check the mandate status too if you want to confirm the payment control has changed.

What if the subscription is not visible in Google Play?

Check that you are signed into the Google Account that owns it, then inspect YouTube Paid memberships and Google Payments records. If Apple or another provider bills the membership, use that provider’s cancellation route instead of assuming Google Play manages it.

Will I lose YouTube benefits as soon as I cancel?

YouTube says membership benefits continue until the end of the current billing period after cancellation. Check the membership details for the end date, and consult the billing provider if it is not a YouTube-managed membership.

Does uninstalling the YouTube app stop renewal?

No. Removing the app does not cancel a Google Play subscription. Cancel the subscription in the account and provider that manage it, then check the resulting status.
