The phrase “YouTube 24/7 streaming service” can mean three different things: YouTube Premium, a continuous livestream, or a paid channel membership. In India, UPI can be used for eligible YouTube Premium subscriptions through Google Play, while a channel membership must be checked at its own checkout.

A continuous livestream is not automatically a paid YouTube product. It is a broadcast run by a channel, and the person operating it may use separate software or a hosting service. Your first step is therefore to identify which purchase you are trying to make.

First clarify what you are paying for

YouTube Premium is a viewer subscription. It is associated with your Google account and provides the benefits shown in the Premium offer for that account. Paying for Premium does not buy access to one particular devotional stream, lofi station, news loop or study channel, and it does not make your own channel broadcast continuously.

A continuous livestream is different. The channel owner sends a live programme to YouTube and keeps it running over an extended period. The programme might be a bhajan loop, a local news bulletin, an ambience video or a study timer. Viewers normally watch it through YouTube without paying the operator simply because the stream is live.

A channel membership is a third purchase type. You join a particular channel and pay for the channel-specific perks displayed there, such as badges, members-only posts or other benefits. It is not the same as YouTube Premium, even when the channel runs all day and night.

This distinction matters because the payment screen, billing platform and available payment methods can differ. If you are trying to watch YouTube with Premium benefits, follow the Premium route below. If you want to support a particular creator, use that channel’s Join option. If you want to operate the broadcast yourself, you need a livestream setup rather than a viewer subscription.

For the technical side of running a continuous broadcast, the guide on streaming a video file to YouTube Live without OBS is more relevant than a Premium payment guide. It covers a different problem: sending your own prepared file to YouTube.

Pay for YouTube Premium with UPI in India

Google Play supports UPI for eligible app subscriptions in India. Google’s published instructions include YouTube Premium as an example of a monthly subscription that can be paid through UPI AutoPay. The exact methods shown still depend on the country, Google account, payment profile and billing platform used for the purchase.

Start by signing in to the Google account that should own the Premium subscription. Check that the account’s country and payment profile are set for India. A UPI account in India does not by itself change the country or billing profile of a Google account, and payment options can be restricted when those details do not match.

Open the YouTube Premium membership offer and choose the plan displayed for your account. Do not rely on a price copied from another account, an old article or a different billing route. Plans and offers can vary, so read the amount shown on your own checkout page.

At the payment stage, inspect the available methods. If Google Play shows UPI, select it, choose a supported UPI app and approve the request in that app. Google India describes the process as selecting the payment method in the cart, choosing “Pay with UPI” and approving the purchase in a supported UPI app. You can read the current Google Play payment guidance for India before approving anything.

Do not approve a request merely because it has the right merchant name. Check the amount, the recurring nature of the payment and the account receiving the request. If the amount or account does not match what YouTube displayed, stop and return to the checkout rather than approving it from habit.

After approval, return to YouTube and check the account’s Purchases and memberships or Paid memberships area. Confirm that Premium is active, that the payment method is the one you intended to use and that the next billing information is visible. Keep the confirmation available until you have verified the subscription in YouTube itself.

If UPI does not appear, that does not prove that UPI is unavailable for every Indian YouTube account. It may reflect the billing platform, account settings, eligibility of the subscription or the payment methods currently offered at that checkout. Do not switch accounts repeatedly without checking which account will own the subscription.

The practical checkout steps

The following sequence keeps the payment and the YouTube account connected:

  1. Sign in to the Google account that should receive YouTube Premium.
  2. Confirm that the country and payment profile are appropriate for India.
  3. Open the Premium offer from YouTube rather than relying on an old payment link.
  4. Select the plan and read the displayed amount and renewal terms.
  5. Choose UPI if it is offered by the checkout.
  6. Select a supported UPI app and review the payment request there.
  7. Approve the request only after checking the amount and recurring details.
  8. Return to YouTube and confirm the active membership and next billing date.

If the checkout sends you to Google Play, complete the payment in that flow rather than trying to create a second subscription from another device. If it opens a different billing route, follow the methods presented there. The same Google account can have payment records associated with a particular platform, and the platform determines which options are available.

A failed attempt can leave a pending request in your UPI app or bank account. Avoid approving repeated requests while the first one is still being resolved. Check YouTube, Google Play and your UPI app for the transaction status, then follow the relevant support instructions if the membership has not appeared.

You can also compare the purpose of the payment with the practical work involved in running a channel. The article on comparing 24/7 streaming services is about operating choices, not Premium access. Keeping those decisions separate prevents you from paying for a viewer subscription when what you need is a way to keep your own broadcast online.

What UPI AutoPay means for a subscription

A one-time UPI payment and a recurring UPI subscription are not the same approval. For recurring billing, UPI AutoPay uses a mandate that authorises scheduled payments according to the terms shown during setup. Google says the mandate can specify the amount, frequency or duration, so a future scheduled charge may not require you to authenticate each time in the same way as the first purchase.

Read the mandate before approving it. Check the amount, billing frequency, start or end information if shown, and the account or UPI app being used. The first subscription purchase and the mandate still require your approval. A successful first payment does not mean that every later debit is a one-time charge.

The mandate is also separate from your available bank balance. A later payment can fail if the account lacks funds, the mandate is no longer valid, the bank does not support the recurring transaction, or verification is required again. A UPI app being installed on your phone does not guarantee that every recurring request will be accepted.

For Indian recurring payments, YouTube says you may be asked to verify or re-enter payment details under RBI eMandate requirements. The bank may also impose its own restrictions on recurring charges. If YouTube presents a verification prompt, complete it through the official payment flow rather than treating the prompt as an optional message.

UPI itself is designed for round-the-clock payments. NPCI says in its UPI FAQ that payments are instant and available 24/7 regardless of bank working hours. That general description does not guarantee that a particular YouTube checkout, bank, UPI app or recurring mandate will work at every hour. A merchant can be unavailable, a mandate can need verification, or a bank can decline the transaction.

If a later Premium payment fails, check the membership status first. Then check the mandate in your UPI app or bank account, confirm that the payment method remains valid and follow YouTube’s instructions. Do not assume that cancelling a mandate automatically cancels every related YouTube membership, or that deleting a UPI app removes a billing agreement.

Check which platform is billing you

The payment method depends partly on where the subscription is billed. New YouTube Premium and Music Premium subscribers on Android have been billed through Google Play since 2022, according to YouTube’s help information. Other accounts or devices may show a different route, so use your own membership details as the source of truth.

Open the membership or payment details associated with the account and look for the billing platform. Google Play records, YouTube membership details and your bank or UPI history should describe the same transaction. If one place shows an active subscription but another shows no matching payment, investigate before starting another plan.

This is particularly important when changing phones, moving from an Android checkout to a browser, or using more than one Google account. A UPI payment approved on one account does not activate Premium on a different account simply because both accounts are present on the same device.

Payment methods can change over time. Google’s India payment information lists the methods currently supported for relevant Google Play purchases and explains that availability depends on the purchase and account. It also notes changes to accepted payment methods, so check the current page rather than relying on an old list. The Google India explanation of UPI subscription payments describes the UPI AutoPay flow, but your checkout remains the final test.

If the account is billed through Google Play, use the Google Play subscription and payment records when checking a failed renewal. If YouTube identifies another billing route, follow the instructions for that route. Avoid assuming that a payment option visible in Google Play must also be available in every YouTube membership screen.

A channel membership is a different purchase

If your goal is to support a devotional, news, ambience or study channel, open that channel and select Join if the option is available. The membership belongs to that channel and provides the perks shown on its page. It does not provide YouTube Premium, and buying Premium does not automatically make you a member of the channel.

YouTube describes channel memberships as recurring payments that are charged at the start of each monthly billing cycle. The membership page should show the level, amount, perks and renewal information before you confirm. Read those details as a channel-specific agreement rather than applying the payment rules for Premium automatically.

UPI may or may not appear for a particular channel membership checkout. The available method can depend on the account, device, billing platform, country and the checkout being used. The official information does not establish that every channel membership offers UPI, so do not promise a UPI route to another viewer unless the Join screen actually displays it.

For an India-based recurring membership, YouTube may require eMandate verification. If the checkout asks for that verification, read the mandate and approve it only when the amount and renewal terms are clear. If UPI is absent, use another method displayed at checkout or decide not to continue. Do not create Premium as a workaround, because Premium and the channel membership purchase different benefits.

If the channel runs continuously, the broadcast itself may remain free to watch while the membership pays for optional perks. The channel operator decides what perks are offered within YouTube’s available membership features. A viewer should therefore judge the membership by those stated perks, not by the fact that the channel is labelled 24/7.

Check payment options before confirming

Before any YouTube payment, use a short check that covers both the product and the payment:

Check What to confirm Why it matters
Product Premium, a channel membership or your own livestream operation These are separate products and solve different problems
Account The signed-in Google account and India payment profile The subscription attaches to the account used at checkout
Amount The amount shown on your current checkout Prices and offers can differ by account or billing route
Renewal Whether the payment is recurring and how often it renews A mandate is not a one-time payment
Method UPI, card or another option actually displayed Availability is not guaranteed for every checkout
Platform Google Play, YouTube or another stated billing route Support and payment records follow the billing platform
Confirmation Active membership and next billing details This verifies that the intended account received the purchase

Keep the confirmation message and note which UPI app approved the request. If you share a phone with family members or manage several channels, write down the Google account used. Many apparent payment problems are account mix-ups rather than failures of UPI itself.

If what you need is a continuous broadcast from an uploaded file, treat the operating question separately from the viewer payment question. A service such as StreamNeo removes the need to leave your own computer running by taking an uploaded video, your YouTube stream key and the broadcast setup, then monitoring and restarting the stream when needed. That is a livestream operating arrangement, not YouTube Premium and not a channel membership.

For a channel owner planning a long-running loop, it is also worth understanding what happens when a file ends. The guide on keeping FFmpeg streaming after a video ends discusses one technical approach, while looping a live stream on YouTube explains why a looped source and a continuously maintained broadcast are not always the same thing.

Do not use a Premium payment as evidence that your own channel is being hosted continuously. Do not use a channel membership payment as evidence that the creator has agreed to run a stream without interruption. Each payment has a different purpose and should be checked against the exact outcome you want.

Before committing, compare the operating options on the pricing page. When the file and channel are ready, start free — 24-hour trial, no card.

FAQ

Can I pay for YouTube Premium with UPI in India?

Yes, UPI is supported for eligible Google Play subscriptions in India, including the published YouTube Premium payment flow. Select UPI only if it appears at your checkout, then approve the request in a supported UPI app and confirm the membership afterwards.

Does UPI AutoPay charge Premium every month without asking me?

UPI AutoPay uses an approved mandate for scheduled payments, so later charges may not require the same authentication each time. Read the amount, frequency and duration before approving, and remember that a bank, mandate or verification issue can still stop a later renewal.

Can I use UPI to join any YouTube channel membership?

Not necessarily. Channel memberships are separate from Premium, and UPI availability must be checked on the specific channel’s Join checkout. If UPI is not displayed, use another method shown there or do not proceed.

Does paying for YouTube Premium keep my own livestream running?

No. Premium is a viewer subscription and does not host or operate your channel’s broadcast. A continuous livestream needs its own broadcast method, content and channel setup.
