You can enable Super Chat on a YouTube channel in India if your channel is individually eligible for YouTube fan-funding features. Start in YouTube Studio under Earn > Supers, then complete the setup and accept the Commerce Product Module when YouTube asks you to.

India is a supported location for eligible Super Chat and Super Stickers creators, but being based in India is not enough by itself. Your age, YPP access, channel status, content, live chat settings and acceptance of YouTube’s commercial terms all matter.

Is Super Chat available to eligible creators in India?

Yes. YouTube includes India on its supported-location list for Super Chat and Super Stickers. That means an eligible creator in India can use these fan-funding features, subject to YouTube’s review and the feature’s individual requirements.

The important distinction is between location availability and channel eligibility. India being listed means the feature can be offered there. It does not mean that every India-based channel automatically receives the Supers control in Studio, or that every live stream can display Super Chat.

Super Chat lets viewers pay to highlight a message in a live chat. Super Stickers work in a similar way, but use animated or illustrated stickers. YouTube presents both features together in many of its help pages and Studio settings, so you may see instructions for Super Chat & Super Stickers even when your immediate aim is only Super Chat.

The feature is most useful when your live broadcast has an active audience that can participate in chat. For example, a devotional channel may use it during a live prayer session, while a local news channel may receive messages during a scheduled discussion. A silent 24/7 loop can remain live, but it may not create the same opportunity for viewers to use chat-based support.

YouTube also excludes some situations. Super Chat and Super Stickers are not available for age-restricted, unlisted or private videos, Made for Kids content, or YouTube Giving fundraiser videos. They also cannot be used when live chat or comments are turned off. Check the current Super Chat and Super Stickers eligibility and availability guidance before relying on the feature for a particular broadcast.

Check YPP and fan-funding eligibility first

Do not begin by looking for a hidden switch. First confirm that the channel has access to the relevant YouTube Partner Programme and fan-funding route. YouTube can change eligibility rules and Studio labels, so use the current expanded YouTube Partner Programme overview as the reference for your account.

As listed on YouTube’s site in October 2026, the expanded YPP route describes these figures for earlier access to selected fan-funding features:

Requirement Threshold described by YouTube What it means in practice
Subscribers 500 The channel must reach the stated subscriber threshold.
Valid public uploads Three in the last 90 days These must meet YouTube’s definition of valid public uploads.
Long-form viewing route 3,000 qualified public watch hours in the last 12 months The hours must be counted under YouTube’s rules.
Shorts route 3 million qualified public Shorts views in the last 90 days Shorts views are measured separately from long-form watch hours.

Meeting the figures does not guarantee acceptance or guarantee that every monetisation feature will appear. YouTube reviews channels, and individual features can have additional requirements. A channel can therefore be based in India, reach the published figures and still need to resolve a policy, account or feature-specific issue before Supers become available.

YouTube’s monetisation guidance also says that creators using Super Chat and Super Stickers must be at least 18 years old, live in a country or region where the features are available, and accept the Commerce Product Module or the formerly used Commerce Product Addendum. Read the current YouTube guidance on how creators earn money for the conditions that apply to your account.

There are other YPP routes and thresholds for advertising revenue. Do not assume that access to one monetisation area automatically activates Supers, or that reaching an advertising threshold is necessary for every fan-funding route. Look at the status shown in your own Studio account rather than relying on an old screenshot or a creator forum post.

If you run a channel around pre-recorded devotional music, study lessons or ambience, review the content as well as the numbers. Reused material, rights problems or a channel that does not meet YouTube’s monetisation policies can affect eligibility. A continuous broadcast also needs a suitable live format and an active chat setting if you want viewers to use Super Chat.

Accept the Commerce Product Module

The Commerce Product Module, usually shortened to CPM, is the agreement that covers certain fan-funding products. Accepting it is part of the activation process, not an optional acknowledgement that can be skipped indefinitely.

When Studio shows the Supers setup flow, read the displayed terms and complete the acceptance steps using the account that manages the channel. YouTube may refer to a Commerce Product Module or, in older account material, a Commerce Product Addendum. Follow the current wording presented to you rather than searching for an old menu name.

This step is separate from simply turning on live chat. Live chat gives viewers a place to post messages; the Commerce Product Module allows the relevant paid fan-funding features to be offered, subject to the other requirements. A channel can have chat working normally and still not have Super Chat enabled.

You remain responsible for checking the rules that apply to your own activity. YouTube states that creators are responsible for complying with applicable laws while using Super Chat and Super Stickers, including laws that may affect whether you can turn on, offer, send or receive money through them. This guide does not determine how Indian tax, business or other legal rules apply to you, so check current official guidance or obtain professional advice where necessary.

Once you accept the module, allow Studio time to update. The control may not appear identically on every channel, and the wording can vary by account, device and rollout. If you are eligible but the screen does not change, work through the missing-control checks below rather than repeatedly accepting the same terms.

Enable Supers on a computer

The desktop route is normally the clearest way to inspect your channel’s eligibility and complete the terms flow.

  1. Sign in to the Google account that manages the YouTube channel.
  2. Open YouTube Studio.
  3. In the left-hand menu, select Earn.
  4. Open the Supers tab.
  5. Select Get started.
  6. Read and complete the on-screen instructions.
  7. Accept the Commerce Product Module if YouTube presents it.
  8. Review the eligible live streams and Premieres where Super Chat and Super Stickers can appear.

The exact screen may not match an older tutorial. YouTube can place the Supers area behind an eligibility card, and the tab may only surface when the channel qualifies. If the tab is present but the Get started button is not, read each card on the page and check whether the account still has an incomplete YPP or terms step.

After activation, prepare the live stream itself. Confirm that the broadcast is public when appropriate, that it is not unlisted or private, and that live chat is enabled. If the video is Made for Kids or age-restricted, the feature may not be available even though the channel-level Supers setup is complete.

For an always-on channel, test the viewer-facing experience without treating a test result as a guarantee for every future broadcast. Check whether live chat is visible, whether the stream is using the intended channel and whether the video has any restriction that changes its eligibility. If you use a recorded loop, the production side still matters: the stream must remain connected and the chat must remain available.

The broadcast workflow is separate from the monetisation setting. A guide such as what video formats work best for a YouTube 24/7 streaming service can help you prepare the file, but it does not replace the YPP and Supers checks in Studio.

Enable Supers in the Android Studio app

You can also complete the setup from the YouTube Studio app on Android. The labels are similar to desktop, but the navigation is different.

  1. Open the YouTube Studio app.
  2. Tap Earn in the bottom navigation.
  3. Tap the Supers card.
  4. Follow the instructions shown in the app.
  5. If this is your first visit to Supers, accept the Commerce Product Module when prompted.
  6. Complete the setup and return to the Supers area to check its status.

If the Supers card is not immediately visible, YouTube’s Android instructions say to choose Get started in the Supers section and then select Turn on when prompted. Do not assume that the absence of a card proves that India is unsupported. It can mean that the channel has not reached the relevant eligibility stage, that the app is showing a different account, or that the feature is not available to that particular channel.

Before troubleshooting in the app, check the account identity at the top of Studio. A Google account may manage more than one channel, and the eligibility status belongs to the selected channel. Switching to the wrong channel is an easy way to spend time looking for a control that belongs somewhere else.

The Android app is useful when you need to inspect the channel away from your computer, but desktop Studio may expose more context when there is a review, terms or eligibility issue. If the app shows only a general monetisation status, open Studio in a desktop browser and inspect Earn > Supers there.

The app does not change the content restrictions. A channel may have Supers enabled at account level while a specific Made for Kids, unlisted, private or age-restricted live video cannot use them. Live chat or comments must also remain enabled for Super Chat and Super Stickers to function on the relevant stream.

If the channel runs continuously, the person managing it may not be present when viewers send messages. Decide how chat will be moderated and who will notice paid messages. Enabling the feature is a settings task, but operating a public live chat is an ongoing responsibility.

What to check if Supers is missing

A missing Supers tab or card usually means that at least one condition has not been met, the wrong channel is selected, or YouTube has not made the control available to that account. Work through the checks in order.

Confirm the selected channel

Open the account menu and verify the channel name, handle and profile image. This matters when one Google account manages a devotional channel, a business channel and a personal channel. YouTube assesses eligibility at channel level, not simply at the level of the person who has signed in.

Inspect the Earn page

On desktop, go to YouTube Studio > Earn and read the status cards. On Android, open Earn and look for the Supers section. If YouTube shows an application, review or action required message, complete that step before looking for the activation switch.

Check the fan-funding conditions

Confirm that the channel is eligible for the relevant YPP route, that the creator meets the age requirement, that India is the account’s applicable supported location and that the Commerce Product Module has been accepted. Published thresholds are entry conditions, not a promise that the control will appear immediately.

Check the stream itself

Even with channel-level access, a particular video may be excluded. Review whether it is age-restricted, unlisted, private, Made for Kids or a YouTube Giving fundraiser. Make sure live chat or comments have not been switched off. These restrictions can explain why Supers are unavailable on one broadcast while the channel settings look correct.

Update the app and try the other route

If the Android app looks incomplete, update it through the official app store, sign out only if necessary, and inspect the same channel in desktop Studio. If desktop is missing the control, the app is unlikely to create eligibility by itself, but it can reveal whether the account is showing a different status.

Allow for account-specific differences

YouTube does not promise identical controls for every account. Interface experiments, account review status, channel history and feature rollouts can affect what you see. Use the official help pages linked in this article and the notices in your own Studio account rather than copying a creator’s screen from a different country or an earlier date.

Do not create a second channel merely because the control is missing. First identify whether the issue is eligibility, content restriction, account selection or an incomplete agreement. If you operate a long-running channel, also separate the monetisation problem from the streaming problem: how to schedule recurring YouTube livestreams from pre-recorded videos covers a different part of the workflow.

For creators who want the broadcast to continue while their own computer is switched off, StreamNeo removes the need to keep a local streaming setup running overnight: upload the video, add the YouTube stream key, and let the cloud broadcast be monitored and restarted if it drops. It does not change YPP eligibility, enable Supers for you or decide whether a particular video qualifies.

Prepare the channel before viewers use Super Chat

Turning on Supers is only the first part of using them responsibly. Write a short moderation policy for your chat, decide who can respond to paid messages and make clear what viewers should not send. Paid visibility does not make a message accurate, suitable or entitled to a response.

For a devotional, study or ambience channel, explain what the live stream is for and whether the chat is monitored continuously. For a local news channel, distinguish viewer support from editorial approval. A Super Chat is a paid chat message, not an instruction to publish unverified information or change the programme.

Keep the stream’s technical path stable as well. A long-running broadcast can fail because of the video source, encoder, internet connection or YouTube-side state even when Supers are correctly enabled. If you are considering a home computer, VPS or managed workflow, compare the practical trade-offs in are cloud services cheaper than running OBS at home for 24/7 YouTube before choosing how the stream will run.

Check the official YouTube pages again when you are ready to launch. Requirements, supported locations, interface labels and excluded content can change. Keep a note of when you checked them, but treat the current Studio notice as the final account-specific signal.

Before committing, compare the operating options on the pricing page. When the file and channel are ready, start free — 24-hour trial, no card.

FAQ

Is Super Chat available to every YouTube creator in India?

No. India is a supported location, but each channel must meet YouTube’s YPP and fan-funding requirements. Age, channel review, the Commerce Product Module, content restrictions and live chat settings can all affect access.

Where do I turn on Super Chat on desktop?

In YouTube Studio, open Earn, select Supers, and choose Get started. Complete the on-screen steps, including acceptance of the Commerce Product Module if it appears.

Where is Super Chat in the Android Studio app?

Open the YouTube Studio app, tap Earn, and select the Supers card. If it is not shown, use Get started in the Supers section and then choose Turn on when prompted.

Why is the Supers control still missing after I reach the published threshold?

The published YPP figures do not guarantee access to every monetisation feature. Check the selected channel, YPP status, age requirement, Commerce Product Module, content restrictions and live chat settings, then compare the status in desktop Studio with the current YouTube Help guidance.
