To schedule a YouTube broadcast in Streamlabs Talk Studio, connect your YouTube channel, open Schedule, choose + Schedule, select YouTube and enter the broadcast details. Scheduling creates an event; it does not start your show for you. Later, open that scheduled broadcast, enter its studio and press Go Live when you are ready.

The steps below cover both live and prerecorded broadcasts, what to check if YouTube is not available as a destination, and how to get from the scheduled event into the actual show. Streamlabs’ scheduling guide documents this workflow; check its current instructions if your controls look different.

Connect YouTube to Talk Studio

Sign in to Talk Studio and connect the YouTube channel that will host the broadcast. You need to select the intended destination later, so check the channel name rather than assuming that a Google account connection points to the right channel. If you manage more than one channel, this small check can prevent scheduling the event in the wrong place.

A channel may not be ready to stream through Talk Studio just because you can sign in to YouTube. Streamlabs’ YouTube setup guide describes channel verification and the initial enablement process for live streaming. Its Talk Studio destinations guide also explains the connection requirements. The steps may include verification by text message and enabling live streaming in YouTube Studio; allow for YouTube’s own checks rather than leaving this until the scheduled broadcast is near.

If Talk Studio prompts you for camera or microphone access, grant the browser permissions you need for a live presentation. You may not need those devices for a prerecorded video, but having the correct permissions ready can avoid a last-minute interruption if you plan to speak on camera or use a microphone. Do not interpret a successful account connection as confirmation that YouTube has enabled live streaming on the channel.

Streamlabs’ setup material describes an unlisted test stream as part of YouTube’s initial enablement flow and advises waiting after completing it. These are Streamlabs’ published instructions, not a promise about YouTube’s current processing time. If verification or eligibility is still pending, use YouTube’s current live streaming help and check the channel’s status before relying on a scheduled event.

Open Schedule and choose + Schedule

In Talk Studio, open Schedule. Streamlabs documents Shift+J as the keyboard shortcut for the Schedule panel; if the shortcut does not work in your browser or keyboard layout, use the visible control instead. Choose + Schedule to begin creating a broadcast.

Treat the scheduling panel as an event-creation step, not a countdown that will launch your show. You are setting up a YouTube event and its details. The broadcast still needs you to enter the corresponding studio and press Go Live later. Keep that distinction in mind when telling viewers a start time: a scheduled event gives them a planned destination, but it does not remove the need for you to start the show.

Streamlabs’ scheduling guide, last updated 25 April 2025, states that its scheduling window extends up to 50 days. That is a dated product instruction, not a permanent YouTube rule; confirm the limit in the current Talk Studio interface before planning far ahead. If the chosen date falls outside the available range, pick a date the interface accepts or create the schedule closer to the event.

Select the YouTube destination

When Talk Studio asks where to schedule the broadcast, select the connected YouTube destination you intend to use. Read the channel name in the selection carefully. This matters especially if your account has a personal channel as well as a devotional, business, news or study channel, or if you help manage channels for other people.

If YouTube does not appear, stop here rather than creating an event under another destination and assuming it can be moved later. Recheck that you connected the intended account and that the channel is eligible for live streaming. The Streamlabs destinations instructions describe the YouTube connection and enablement steps; YouTube’s current account status and live-streaming controls remain the authority for your channel.

After scheduling, avoid removing the YouTube destination casually. Streamlabs’ scheduling guide advises against deleting destinations after an event is scheduled. As that guide was last updated on 25 April 2025, treat this as product-specific guidance to check against the current interface, but preserve the connection while you still need to enter the broadcast studio or manage the event.

Choose a live stream or prerecorded video

Talk Studio offers two content paths: Live-stream and Pre-recorded video. Choose a live stream if you will present in real time from the studio. Choose prerecorded video if you want to schedule an uploaded recording rather than perform live. The choice describes the content you are preparing; it does not change the need to confirm the event details and, for the live-stream path, enter the studio and press Go Live when ready.

Choice What you are preparing What to plan for
Live stream A broadcast you will present from Talk Studio Check the channel, event details and your readiness to enter the studio and start the show
Prerecorded video An uploaded recording scheduled as an event Check the file and current Talk Studio upload limits before relying on the recording

Streamlabs’ scheduling guide, last updated 25 April 2025, lists a 5 GB maximum file size for prerecorded uploads and duration limits of one hour on Standard and two hours on Pro or Ultra. Those are volatile Talk Studio plan and product limits from that dated guide, not general YouTube limits. Check Streamlabs’ current controls and plan information before preparing a file around them; do not assume that an older limit still applies.

A recording is useful when the content is finished and does not depend on live audience interaction. A live stream makes sense when you need to respond in real time, introduce a programme or host guests. For a continuous recorded channel, the workflow and operating needs can differ from a single scheduled event; for example, our guides to a continuous Sanskrit mantra playlist and recorded bhajans with OBS discuss separate approaches to ongoing playback.

Enter the broadcast details and date/time

Enter the requested broadcast information in Talk Studio. Streamlabs’ documented scheduling flow includes the title, description, date and time, and thumbnail as applicable. Use a title viewers can recognise and a description that says what they can expect. Check spelling, the selected date and the time zone shown by the interface before continuing, especially if you are scheduling from India for viewers in another region.

Choose a thumbnail that belongs with the broadcast and is legible at a small size. If you use a recurring format, a consistent title and visual style can help returning viewers distinguish one event from another. These choices do not change the mechanics of starting the broadcast, but they make the event information more useful before the show begins.

Be deliberate about the date and time. A scheduled event communicates when you intend to go live; it does not start the show automatically at that time. Leave yourself enough room to open the studio, check the programme and press Go Live. If you are inviting guests, plan to enter the studio before asking them to join so you have time to check the setup together.

Streamlabs’ 25 April 2025 scheduling guide says a scheduled broadcast cannot be started after its scheduled date and time has passed and advises creating a new schedule in that situation. It also gives a 15-minute timing instruction for going live from the scheduled time. These are dated Talk Studio instructions, not a guarantee of how the current interface will behave. Check the current schedule controls, and if you miss the event time, do not assume the old event can still be started.

Confirm the scheduled broadcast

Review the selected YouTube channel and the event information before confirming. Make sure the content type is right, the title and description are complete, and the date and time match your plan. Once you submit the schedule, look for Talk Studio’s success notification. Streamlabs says a successful YouTube schedule creates an event link; use the confirmation details to find and share the scheduled event where available.

Do not treat a success notification as proof that the live presentation itself has begun. It confirms the scheduling action, not that you have entered the studio or pressed Go Live. If you share the event link with viewers, make your wording clear: tell them when the broadcast is planned, and make sure someone is responsible for starting it.

Keep the YouTube destination connected while the scheduled event is still relevant. If a detail looks wrong or you cannot find the event, return to Schedule and inspect the entry rather than making a second event immediately. Duplicate listings can confuse viewers. If the event needs to be replaced, check Talk Studio’s current controls and YouTube’s event details before deciding whether to edit, cancel or create a new schedule.

For creators whose real goal is continuous playback rather than a single show, the event workflow may not be enough by itself. A guide to switching from a VPS loop to a streaming service can help you think through the different operating requirements. StreamNeo removes the overnight burden of leaving your own computer running for a prerecorded 24/7 YouTube channel, but it is not the step that starts a Talk Studio event.

Enter the studio and press Go Live

When it is time to present, open Schedule again and locate the scheduled broadcast. Choose Enter Studio for that event. Confirm that you have entered the studio belonging to the correct schedule, particularly if you have several upcoming broadcasts or more than one YouTube destination.

Use the studio to prepare the live show. If guests are joining, enter before inviting them so you can check that they reach the right session. Confirm that your presentation is ready, then press Go Live when you actually want the broadcast to begin. Streamlabs documents Shift+Enter as a shortcut for the Go Live action; use the visible button if you prefer or if the shortcut does not behave as expected.

The scheduled time and the start action are separate. If you open the studio early, you can prepare before starting. If you are not ready to broadcast, use Schedule to leave the studio rather than pressing Go Live. Do not assume that reaching the scheduled time, entering the studio, or receiving a confirmation message starts the show: the explicit Go Live action is the point to verify before telling viewers that the broadcast is underway.

If you miss the planned time, consult the current Talk Studio schedule controls and the event’s status. The Streamlabs guide dated 25 April 2025 says an event cannot be started once its scheduled date and time have passed and recommends deleting it and creating a new schedule. Since software guidance can change, use the current interface as your immediate reference and notify viewers if you need to publish a replacement event.

FAQ

Does a scheduled Talk Studio broadcast start automatically?

No. Scheduling creates the event, but it does not start the broadcast at its scheduled time. Reopen Schedule, choose Enter Studio for the event and press Go Live when you are ready.

Streamlabs says a successful YouTube schedule creates an event link and provides confirmation details. Look for the link after the success notification and check the current event in YouTube if you need to verify what viewers can see.

What if YouTube is missing from the destination list?

Check that the right channel is connected and that YouTube has enabled live streaming for it. Follow the current YouTube and Streamlabs setup guidance; a Google sign-in alone does not establish channel eligibility.

Can I schedule a prerecorded video instead of presenting live?

Yes, Talk Studio’s documented flow offers a prerecorded-video choice as well as a live-stream choice. Check the current upload and duration limits in Talk Studio before preparing the file, since Streamlabs’ published limits can change.
